IUT2, University Institute of Technology, an institute with a strong identity
The strong identity of the IUT2 is due to its specific culture and to the strong feeling of belonging towards the students, the professors and the supervisory staff. The student life and the student unions are very developed, notably in the cultural and sports fields.
University lecturers and researchers, professors and business professionals act together to propose to the students an educational method integrating the latest technological innovations and a diversified, personalized and professional teaching program.
IUT2 is one of the 12 faculties of Pierre Mendès France University. Thus, the institute has missions of training, teaching, research, technological transfer, continuous education and diffusion of technical and scientific culture.
Formations :
A wide range of teaching programs
As regards to the new higher learning European organisation (LMD), IUT2 managed to broaden its horizons in terms of teaching programs and then, is currently proposing 14 professional Licences (equivalent to a Bachelor degree). This degree whose purpose is professional integration, allows the students to quickly acquire a qualification that meets their needs, expectations and their identified occupations, in collaboration with the adequate professional branches.
The different teaching programs of IUT2 are organised so as to allow the student to personalize his/her course of study and to make easier the construction of his/her professional project: in an initial training program with 30 hours of classes per week and a mandatory internship in the chosen professional sector; in a continuous education program, for those who return to study after a potential validations of skills; a program in a sandwich-courses device in which the student alternates school days at the IUT and work days in a company; a distance-learning program in complement to another activity or a special study year during which the student prepare his/her degree in one single year.

Research :
The research activities take place in two laboratories host by IUT2:
The Research and Study cluster in Management ( GREG) and the Research cluster in Interactive Intelligence of Information ( RI3)
And is constantly in progress with the research works of the University lecturers and researchers that compose the professors' team of IUT2

Etes-vous un étudiant étranger intéressé par une année d'études à l'IUT2 ? Avant de répondre à cette question, peut-être souhaitez-vous savoir comment s'inscrit l'IUT au sein du système universitaire français ? Ayez bien conscience que les formations délivrées dans les IUT sont, par rapport aux filières plus classiques de premier cycle universitaire (DEUG, DEUST), nettement plus intensives, avec deux à trois fois plus d'heures de cours : le volume horaire et la charge de travail excluent toute autre activité parallèle (activité professionnelle ou autres études). Par ailleurs, les IUT sont également beaucoup plus proches du monde de l'entreprise (stage obligatoire en deuxième année, intervenants issus du secteur privé, etc.)
